Why Leave A Successful Trading Career?
Iโve always disliked that phrase.
As the son of two teachers, I saw firsthand the responsibility, and privilege, that comes with guiding others. Great teaching is a skill in itself. Weโve all had teachers we couldnโt wait to learn fromโฆand others weโd rather forget.
Today, a big part of my business involves educating individuals and companies. Whether itโs helping someone land their first role in commodities, climb the ladder, or helping an entire company improve its hedging practices - teaching gives me that same sense of purpose.
When I wrote the book ๐๐ฆ๐ณ๐ง๐ฆ๐ค๐ต๐ญ๐บ ๐๐ฆ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฅ, I didnโt imagine it would become the foundation for a new career. But the feedback was clear - this knowledge was badly needed. Now I get to sit with people, one-on-one or in teams, and witness that moment when a concept finally clicks.
Do I miss trading? At times, absolutely. The energy, the pace of the market, the relationships. But teaching? Thatโs a craft Iโve come to love.
So, if I could rework the old saying:
